Governance laws in Barbados are based on Canadian models. Mr. Bauslaugh will share some recent developments in the law and best practices, including some keys to effective governance, such as structure, proper discharge of the duty of care, managing conflicts of interest, delegation, and policy development, including investment policy development.

Workshop Two: Pension Systems Danger
Pension and national insurance data and contributions are collected for decades and then, if everything goes well, the pensioners receive the correct benefits when they need it most. But what happens if things don’t go so well? Complex processes and systems are required to make sure it does! This takes planning and a comprehensive blueprint to make sure the pensioners are not left out in the cold. Art Beauchamp will share valuable insights from his decades of experience helping to plan and implement successful systems.
